A lot of crazy things happen in Las Vegas, but as the old saying goes, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” Well, a woman flying back home to Philadelphia knows this famous line really well. She waited for the right time to tell her husband that they’ve won a jackpot of a lifetime. What’s the catch? The “jackpot” is worth more than a million bucks.
Eric Sadiwnyk and his wife Lisa took a quick vacation in Sin City hoping to strike gold, but they found no luck. However, something else made the trip more memorable. During their stay in Las Vegas, Lisa found out that she was pregnant, but she didn’t want to tell her husband just yet.
Lisa told a news source, “I had to pack pregnancy tests in my bag and make sure my husband wouldn’t find them.” She thought of a surprise that would truly shock her husband.
So before they left the hotel to the airport, Lisa sent an email to American Airlines and asked for some help. Lisa recalled, “I sent the email to the crew on the plane asking them to announce it.”
At the airport, Lisa secretly talked to one of the staff about the surprise. “They were very excited to help,” Lisa added. “The flight attendant told me to hand her the letter when I boarded the plan.”
As the plane took off, Lisa had no idea when the announcement would be made. Suddenly, the captain addressed everyone on board the plane and said, “everyone to get out their cameras and cellphones. It’s going to be a YouTube moment.”
Lisa started breathing heavily in excitement while her confused husband looked at her after their seat number was announced.
“I was shaking. I could not wait for him to know,” Lisa recalled her initial reaction.
Finally, the captain said, “Well, Eric, although you didn’t strike it rich here in Las Vegas you did hit the jackpot. Congratulations, you’re about to be a dad.”
Lisa captured the moment in the video below:
Now an expecting mom, Lisa was glad that she was able to tell her husband in a unique way and “embarrass him at the same time.”
